I am honored and humbled for All Of Us Warriors: Cancer Stories of Survival and Loss to be selected as the Gold Medal Winner in the Health and Fitness category of the prestigious IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards! In writing this book, I learned that a cancer diagnosis and experience is completely unique, even if the type of cancer and stage is the same. The incidence of cancer continues to rise, estimated to be 40% of us in our lifetime—but despite how many lives have been touched by cancer, hearing of a loved one or friend’s diagnosis still invokes such fear that it is hard to know what to do next. This book strives to demystify the challenging topics we all face, such as cancer, and includes twenty stories from the front lines, offering valuable support to those facing cancer and friends and loved ones.
