I am grateful to the many authors who have published before me and influence my writing, including Marianne Williamson.

I first was introduced to Marianne Williamson’s writing through my mother. She was an avid reader and would send my sisters and I her favorite books when she felt the books would help each of us. The first book I received was A Return to Love. My mother embodied the full meaning of Agape Love, as I describe in The Gift of Goodbye, and Marianne’s words really spoke to mother, and subsequently me Just before she died, my mother gave me The Gift of Change, also by Marianne Williamson. As I have lived through many transitions from divorce to death to job changes, the prayer in The Gift of Change has been a foundation for my grounding and helped keep me balanced. Marianne’s style of writing has been a significant influence on how I approach my writing as it is relatable and practical.

Thank you Marianne Williamson for being a trailblazer in the journey to return to love, our most purest human form, for your many books, your willingness to push the edges of change, and for your leadership in faith, you have made a difference in my life and paved the way for stories like The Gift of Goodbye.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” A Return to Love. Learn more about Marianne Williamson at https://marianne.com/.
